Below is an excerpt from something a friend recently shared with me by Louie Giglio:
And in the days to come, when you are questioning, needing, searching, wondering, asking, and struggling, you will find His sufficiency at the end of every desperate prayer. When you cry out all the things that you are not, you will know His answer is, " I AM."
FOR EVERY CRY THERE IS AN ANSWER:
I need help. I AM
I need hope. I AM
Who could possibly be smart enough to figure this out? I AM
I need a fresh start. I AM
I need a bigger story. I AM
My vision is bigger than my resources. I AM
Nothing's real anymore. I AM
Who can I trust? I AM
I'm not sure who's on my team. I AM
Nobody's listening to me. I AM
I don't have a prayer. I AM
I can't hold on. I AM
I'm pouring into others, who's pouring into me? I AM
If we fail who will get the job done? I AM
I'm not sure why I'm here. I AM
I've given all I can give and it's not enough. I AM
I'm tired. I AM
I quit! I AM
I can't! I AM
Somebody just hold me. I AM
That's powerful stuff. And there's more. But you'll have to read the book "I Am Not But I Know I AM" by Louie Giglio for more.
I haven't read the book, just this fraction of an excerpt, but I ordered myself a copy and look forward to reading it.
Because every time I have become desperate, helpless, and restless, sometimes I've looked to things here on earth- people, places, and things for help, I've come up short and have not found the answers I needed.
But I've learned, and I've learned the hard way, that God has an "I AM" for every question or problem I've brought Him. And I can see that now... This is where it becomes personal... This is my own stuff...
I feel so alone. I AM
Nobody's on my side. I AM
I'm not worth anything. I AM
Life isn't worth it anymore. I AM
I need strength. I AM
I need support. I AM
I need encouragement. I AM
I need fulfillment. I AM
When will the darkness clear? I AM
When will the pain go away? I AM
What are the answers? I AM
What else could go wrong? I AM
Nobody understands. I AM
Everyone has left me. I AM
How will I make it another day? I AM
What is my reason for getting up today? I AM
What is my reason to be happy today? I AM
Why am I being put through all of this? I AM
And the list could go on. But it doesn't need to. Because, for every one of my cries, there comes an answer. And the answer never changes.
Two words. Three letters.
I AM.
Powerful. Take some time to bring your prayers, problems, and questions to God. I guarantee He'll have an answer for you. As I've quoted before from the Ron Hall and Denver Moore book, Same Kind of Different As Me, Denver says "Our limitation is God's opportunity. When we reach the end of our rope and don't know where else to turn, that's when God takes over."
It's amazing how God has to bring us down to nothing to show us we are something and what good things he is capable of doing.
Who do I trust and put my complete hope in? Who is giving me strength to face each day, though they are hard and tiring?
I AM.
Really really like this!!
