Tonight's worship service was great- all the children sang their songs. I was hopping around to various places, and for a while I sat in a pew in front of the children. Immediately, they all came running to sit next to me, and I allowed it. I set my microphone down beside me, and one of the little guys grabbed it, and turned it on, and started to talk into it. I snatched it away.
When the preschoolers were performing, one of the boys was all over the place. These children were all holding stuffed animals. He took his, and chucked it into the audience. Of course, everyone erupted into laughter.
Afterwards, when someone was thanking me for my years of service, they said, "Well, what's next?"
I had to think for a little bit about my answer.
I said, "Right now, all that I have in mind is sleeping for a long time."
What's next? Within the next few days, I'll be resting a lot, and recuperating from all of the pandemonium this week.
What's next? All of my major projects for the summer are done! Now, I have a little over a month to prepare for FINALLY starting to teach in the fall! I wish it were here now!
What's next? Getting a lot of devotional time in and reading a big stack of books I've been patiently waiting to tackle!
What's next? Going back to school and seeing good FRIENDS who I haven't seen in far too long!
What's next? Someone also asked where I was going to be next summer... I don't know! Wherever I get my first call to!
What's next? Continued recovery! I get better every day.
What's next? Are there going to be more health problems? Struggles? Issues? More persecution from enemies? Bumps in the road?
Yeah. There will be that too. Without a doubt.
What's next? I don't know. I can make plans and dream ideas, but ultimately, God only knows what's next.
What's next? I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.
Will there be problems? Yes. Will God's presence and comfort prevail over the problems? YES!
So, I'm pretty sure I needed this today. I've been kind of freaking out about school and the roommate thing and all of that. This might get printed and taped to a wall somewhere. :)
