In a book I'm reading (a secular book), I came across this quote today.
Do all of the wonderful things happen when we are not aware of them?
This quote is in reference to the character missing a meteor shower because she didn't know it was happening because she was sleeping.
But it got me thinking...
What kinds of things are happening every day, in front of us, and maybe not in front of us, that are wonderful, but we just don't see them, or even necessarily look for them?
God blesses us every day. It's up to us to notice.
When we aren't looking for wonderful things, we're not going to find them.
When we start looking for them, wonderful things do happen, and we are aware of them.
There's a whole limitless galaxy out there, and God does miracles every day. I think every time a baby is born, it's a miracle.
We are a speck of dust compared to the giant galaxies that surround us.
God is awesome, and God cares so much about us, He gives us wonderful things every day.
Sometimes, when things aren't going our way, or things are hard, times are tough, we tend to miss all of the wonderful things that happen.
But when we're stuck on the gear of complaining, negativity, pessimism, pouting, anger, bitterness, etc., we miss all of the wonderful things that happen.
Wonderful things do happen every day. You just have to look for them, and you won't miss out on any.
I challenge you to start being more aware of all the things you might be missing.
Here are some of the wonderful things I experienced today:
-Last night I ended up watching "Limitless" it was a great movie, I give it two thumbs up and five stars! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!
-It's hot, but I was in the air most of the day today, and I made sure I was well-hydrated through the course of the entire day.
-I got caught up on many things today that needed to be done- still a long ways to go, but it will get done!
-I took a nap today, for the first time in probably weeks. I had to be to work this morning early, so I think it was okay.
-I played tonight and it went very well, and we sang many good hymns, and while I don't like attention, or do I like to brag, I got a big round of applause at the end of the service. It's kind of humbling. Looking forward to playing there again tomorrow. It was a good sermon too, I'll write about that tomorrow.
I really like this. Thank you. I don't really have much planned for today so I'm not sure how many 'things' wonderful or otherwise I will encounter today, but I'll give it a go :)
ReplyDeleteI like how you put the good things at the end of your posts, I went back and looked at some of your old ones and I like that you have continued that. Do any of your post tell your real story? Like what hurt you? I would like to read those if you could point me to them. If not, that is okay, I just thought I would ask. I hope you have a fantastic Sunday.

Basically, I temporarily lost my ability to walk for about 3 months, because some connectors in my brain shut down because I had been ignoring the fact that I had depression for too many years and my body could not take it any longer...
Let me know if you have any questions or anything! Happy to share my story!
I'm going to look for the wonderful things about today. :)
