Whose Fault?

This was posted on the LoveBomb Facebook page... I really liked it.

It really resounded with what my student teaching supervisor told me all of last quarter...
"Every day, you must forgive yourself..."

Forgiveness of self is important. The above image puts a new spin on it.

Because, if we are really confident, strong, and invulnerable, we shouldn't be letting other people hurt us, should we? So if we let them hurt us, are we at fault as well?

Just thought provoking, I think. It's something I still have a battle with.. There are some things I'm still hurting from. Is that my fault? OR the fault of those who continue to belittle me and take me for granted?

Should I have let it happen in the first place?

Whose fault is it?

  1. No, I don't think we're at fault when we're hurt. I really, really don't. I think it's okay that we feel hurt because a lot of things in life DO hurt. And I think that blaming ourselves for feeling hurt is just going to make us feel worse.

  2. I think it's ok to feel hurt. As long as you don't let that hurt consume you.

  3. No one is invulnerable. And an attack is always the fault of the person doing the attacking. But I think it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking we are at fault, and so this is giving us permission to let that feeling go.
