Saying Yes

In the book I'm reading, one character asks another, "What do you love about life?", and the character goes on to respond to the question.

I noticed I have some new followers, so I decided I would answer that question, hopefully you'll be able to get to know me a little better by reading this.

"What do you love about life?"

-Talking- Visiting- Fellowshipping- Especially with new people. For instance, this morning the woman behind me in line at the grocery store and I began talking. We'd never met before, but she ended up giving me a recipe of hers that she just tried.

-Reading- There's no better way to spend time of my day reading. I read books for fun, books for professional development, my Bible, and my devotionals. It's so easy to get lost in a book.

-Chocolate Chip Cookies- If someone asked me what my favorite food was, my answer would almost instantaneously be "chocolate chip cookies." Seriously, I have been chomping down on them all summer. I get them from the bakery in a nearby town. Only one a day though, gotta stay healthy! :)

-Speaking of staying healthy, eating healthy foods. There's nothing I love more than a fresh garden salad smothered in French dressing. Also, my favorite fruits are fresh watermelon, strawberries, and bananas.

-Finding solutions to problems. Like yesterday, my allergies were terrible. I could barely keep my eyes open they were itching and watering so bad, and I had such a runny nose. However, mom encouraged me to try Zyrtec. Probably the fastest-working, best allergy medicine I've ever come across. Glad we invested in a bottle.

-Planning for student teaching and working with children. I have the days numbered until I get to jump into teaching! Dreams do come true!

-Family- I love my family here, parents, grandparents, great aunt and uncles. They have been so fun to spend time with over the course of the summer.

-Being supported by my Triple Parish family. While my playing for them is done for the summer, our partnership continued today. One of the congregations chose me as a recipient of the endowment funds for this year. I am so blessed. I reference them more here. (And have a picture there, too).  They may not be my "home congregation" but my relationship with them is one I'll always remember.

-Sharing in music ministry with churches. I am especially excited to play this weekend in the largest church of our district. I went in and practiced today, and WOW, what a beauty of an instrument they have. I cannot wait for Saturday and Sunday. Here is the church:

-Plus I am so glad that I have gotten to play in all the other places, sometimes 2 even 3 times a weekend because that means I get to multiple worship services and hear multiple sermons. Some people would be turned away by the idea, but it means more Jesus time.

-Seeing one of my professors and other ECE colleagues tomorrow evening and Friday. Going and helping with a conference!

-The bloggers out there- I really enjoy reading and gleaning information from everyone's post. I am so glad I have this community with everyone!

-Max Lucado. I can't believe I haven't discovered more of his works before now. Sometimes he just puts my emotions exactly into words.

All of these things, and more, make it easy to say "YES" to living and enjoying life.

Yes.

  1. This is great!

Ditto on the strawberries/watermelon and salad with French dressing!!! And also the cookies. :)

I'm hoping to find another good church family when I get to college later this month. I'll probably have to try a couple of places, but hopefully I'll find a good fit besides my home church!

  4. @AM Sorry! I am not creeping on anyone- there's no way I could tell who is from what city... I was just curious how far across the globe the blog has spread!

@Jenn- I knew you were going to comment on that! :)

  5. I think it's creepy too, although it's got my location wrong so I'm not too worried by it, haha. Anyway, great post!
