The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him. - From Psalm 28
I certainly am singing a song of praise today. I know yesterday was a big list of happiness, and today has been so awesome that I am going to do the same today. My heart is rejoicing and I am smiling really big.
I had work this morning, and it was rainy, so it was kind of quiet, but I got to sit and read and I started a new book that I think I am really going to like.
When I got off, I had to go to an LWML (Ladies Aid) meeting at our church. No, I am not a lady, but they asked me to accompany their singing today. So I was glad to help.
Afterward, the president made me get up in the mic and say a few words. It ended up being really funny, I told a woman she reminded me of Oprah Winfrey, and the rest of my time up there was total pandemonium, everyone was laughing at everything I said. I was really glad to bring smiles to those lady's faces.
Oh, and I got a text message last night about working Tuesday night. When most people had left, I sat down with a table of people, and had a few drinks with them. The text said "You were a riot last night!!!! You are so much fun to be around!!" I'm still smiling.
After Ladies Aid this afternoon, I went to the post office and I ended up standing and talking to the post office clerk for over an hour. Just small talk. But as you know, I love talking with people.
Then, tonight, I went to help set up for an early childhood conference. It was a blessing to again be able to help people move, carry, sort, distribute, etc. items. And visit with them while doing so.
And, toward the end, one of my professors from school (who is the keynote speaker) showed up, and gave me a big hug.
Then we all went out to eat afterward- I have some pretty amazing people in my life. We had such a good time, lots of laughs, and it was a committee member's birthday, so we had DQ ice cream cake after the meal to celebrate. It was so much fun.
Oh, and I have the honor (I got asked today) of playing for a church's 125th anniversary services this fall.
Everything that has happened has led me to believe that my vocation is correct, I LOVE my colleagues in the field of ministry, and my heart is bursting with rejoicing.
God is good all the time, I am loved all the time, and I am blessed all the time!
Again, yes!
Love this! :D And I love that you had an hour-conversation with the person in the post office. That's so cool. I wish I could do that!
